1. What we collect

Account data. Your email address, display name, a profile photo if you choose to add one, and, for accounts created during the invite-gated alpha, the invite code you redeemed. We never see or store your password in readable form.

Your job-search content. What you put in: tracked jobs and companies, job descriptions, application statuses and notes, résumés and career-history materials, conversations with the coach, and survey answers you choose to give.

Billing. If you buy a paid plan we store your plan, billing status, and invoice history. Your card details are held by our payment processor, never by us.

Usage data. Information about how you use the service (such as pages visited and features used) and technical data needed to operate and secure it. This is our own record, kept on our own systems. Unless you have accepted advertising cookies (section 4), there is no cross-site tracking of any kind and no page carries an advertising cookie.

Ad-click measurement. If you arrive from one of our ads, the ad platform (Google, Reddit, or Microsoft) adds a click identifier to the link. If you register, we store that identifier with your account and may report the resulting sign-up back to the platform your click came from, along with the purchase if you buy a plan, so we can measure whether our ads work. This happens on our servers: it needs no cookie and no tracker on any page, it tells us nothing about your browsing elsewhere, and it is unaffected by the cookie choice in section 4.

Notification emails. When we send you a match alert or a weekly digest, we record whether the email was opened and which of its links were clicked. We use those records to improve what we send and how often — nothing else. Every notification email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

Waitlist. If you joined the waitlist during the invite-gated alpha, we store your email address and when you joined, and use it to send product updates and occasional promotional email about CareerCorner. You can ask off the list at any time.

2. What we use it for

To run the service for you; to generate AI responses from the content you provide; to fix bugs and improve the product using our own usage data; to send you transactional email (like account confirmation) and, for waitlist members, product updates; and to improve the notification emails we send, using the open and click records described above. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. The advertising-related uses are our own: measuring our own ads, as described in section 1, and, only if you accept advertising cookies, showing our own ads to people who have already visited us.

3. Who processes your data

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to host our infrastructure, deliver email, process payments, and provide the AI models behind our features. Each processes your data only as needed to provide its service to us, and we share nothing with anyone for their own use. When you use AI features, the content you provide is processed to generate the response you asked for. When we measure our own advertising, the ad platforms (Google, Reddit, and Microsoft) receive the conversion reports described in section 1 — each only for the ads it ran. If, and only if, you accept advertising cookies, those platforms also receive what their cookies carry, as described in section 4.

Assistants you connect. You can connect your account to an AI assistant you already use, so it can work with your job search when you ask it to. Nothing is connected unless you set it up and approve it on a screen that names the app asking. Once connected, whatever that assistant reads from your account goes to the company that runs it, and their privacy terms govern it from that point, not ours. That is not us sharing your data with someone for their own purposes. It is you sending your own data to a tool you chose, and you can disconnect it at any time.

Google, if you connect it.You can sign in with your Google account, which shares your name and email address with us and nothing else. Separately, you can connect Google Drive so that a résumé or cover letter you export opens as a new Google Doc in your own Drive. Only the document you choose to export is sent, only when you ask, and the permission covers files this service creates — never the rest of your Drive. Google's terms govern the copy in your Drive from that point. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, which also revokes our access.

4. Cookies

Essential cookies. We use the cookies the site needs to work: keeping you signed in, and remembering the cookie choice described below. They carry no advertising identifier and are always set.

Advertising cookies.These are the only non-essential cookies we use. If you accept them, we load advertising code from Google. It runs our advertising tags, currently Google's own, Reddit's, and Microsoft's. Those tags may set cookies in your browser that let us see which ads bring people here and show our ads again, on those platforms, to people who have already visited us.

They are off until you say yes.Everyone sees a cookie banner before any of this happens. Until you accept, none of the advertising code is loaded: not Google's, Reddit's, or Microsoft's. No advertising cookie is written, and your browser sends nothing to any ad platform. Declining is one click, right beside Accept, and it leaves you exactly where you started. Ignoring the banner has the same effect as declining.

Changing your mind.Use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page and choose again, at any time. Choosing Decline stops the advertising code from loading from that moment on; to remove cookies already stored, clear them in your browser settings.

The ad-click measurement in section 1 is separate from all of this. It uses no cookie, runs on our servers, and neither starts nor stops with your choice here.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time at support@careercorner.ai or through the in-product feedback form. Waitlist emails are kept until you get an invite or ask to be removed. Aggregate, non-identifying records may be retained.

6. Your rights

Whatever your jurisdiction, we honor the basics on request: see the data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, or have it deleted. Ask at support@careercorner.ai or through the in-product feedback form, at no fee.

7. Where data lives

Our service providers may store and process data in data centers in countries other than yours. Wherever it lives, it is protected as described in this policy.

8. Children

The service is not for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We'll post changes here with a new "Last updated" date, and flag significant changes in the product or by email.
